Renowned art agent Art-Trend and The Bund magazine unveil their second annual art awards and exhibition - New Star Art Festival - to re-capture the spirit of the landmark Chinese art event, ''Xing Xing Mei Zhan'' that was launched in 1979. The competition is open to both professionals and students working in the arts. The main theme of the exhibition is one of an uprising, a platform for artists to rally against anti-social and anti-humanitarian acts in China.
The high profile judges include artists and gallerists Gao XiaoHua, Yue MinJun, Zhang Huan and You Yang. The exhibition closes this week at the Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art, and will then tour China.
