Five Chinese contemporary artists and a Yao Ming sculpture feature in the surreal new Alfred Dunhill Shanghai Home project
- Text by Karchun Leung
For the third anniversary of the grand Alfred Dunhill Shanghai Home project, five incredible Chinese artists have collaborated on a book that celebrates a new home and art vision. Les Suens use FENORS (FENce + doORS) to isolate the space within your home whilst MadeIn created a piano in foam to question the function of homewares. Yang Zhen Zhong created an awesome 1.6m tall sculptureof the iconic Chinese basketball player Yao Ming, for everybody to be able to take a picture with him whilst Zhang Ding combines theatre, stadium, conference room and a playground altogether as a white sculpture entitled, “10”. Lastly Liu Jian Hua takes photos of porcelain objects in nowhere, to reflect the idea of the home in the artistic mindset.
