The award-winning Chilean, New York-based designer unveils her latest collection inspired by home
- Text by Fer Munizaga
Pola Thomson won first place as an international designer at the Première Classe: Nouvelle Generation in Paris, 2011. She shows us her new collection, inspired by the colours of blooming deserts, the white sands and blue skies of northern Chile.
Through the block shape that characterises her work, Pola gives sensuality, security and comfort to women with her clothes. For the first time she plays with a hand painted print, using a water brush technique, on sand washed silks and cottons.
But Pola Thomson isn’t just clothes. This collection is accompanied by a line of accessories with organic features made of wood, cotton cord and suede, which are noted for their flawless finish.
The collection can be found in New York and Chile through Pola's pop up stores. She ensures us that we will see her next collection, #6 FW'12, in Paris and around the world.
