Julien Ribot's Love
March 12, 2012
An exclusive behind the scenes sneak peak of the French artist and musician's sublime new video shoot
- Text by Alexandra Plesner
It was only December last year when Julien Ribot was teasing us in an interview with the idea for a video for his romantic song "Love". After about three months, raising money at Kiss Kiss Bank and many sleepless nights later, this fantastic collaboration of many artists is ready to be launched this very week. Julien gives us an exclusive insight of this Yves Klein blue visual explosion of moving images.
Satellite Voices: What was your main inspiration for the video?
Julien Ribot: I pay a tribute to one of my favourite artist Yves Klein, and his famous anthropométries. There is a magical precious blue stone, that Sara Forestier give to me.
SV: You were working with a very precious team right?
Julien Ribot: Indeed, the director was Julien Hallard who won the "Prix de la Critique Française" for his last short film. He was also inspired by "L'Enfer" a film directed, written and produced by Henri-Georges Clouzot which stars Serge Reggiani and Romy Schneider. The main actress was the beautiful Sara Forestier who won the César Award for Best Actress last year.
