Polisse by Maïwenn

October 21, 2011

The Cannes Jury Prize awarded film is finally released this week

  • Text by Jill Caytan

"Polisse" is the story of a journalist assigned to a story within the child protection unit of the Parisian police force. An emotionally compelling cop dramedy by French filmmaker-star Maïwenn Le Besco, who had previously directed "Le Bal Des Actrices" and "Pardonnez-moi". For this movie, Maïwenn did an actual internship within a police department, and was able to see to which extent dealing with troubled minors and parents is complex. The choice of casting hits the nail on the head and features Joey Starr, Karine Viard, Marina Foïs, Nicolas Duvauchelle, Karole Rocher, Jérémie Elkaïm, Maïwenn herself and many more. Not to be missed.

"Polisse" is in Parisian theatres now
