We unveil the first official video from the famed local electro DJ and producer duo
- Text by Lea Rieck
Not only have Jason Heath and Manuel Garay aka Cocolores played every good club in Munich, they now introduce their first official video. The track's called "Vox" and will be released in April on Exploited Records from Berlin. We talk more with Cocolores about the video and Munich.
Satellite Voices: What's the idea behind your new video?
Cocolores: Our main idea was to make a little film. We wanted to create something without a sophisticated plot. The spirit was to make the video look like a photogallery of arty pictures in black and white. We were much inspired by Mathieu Kassovitz's "La Haine" in 1995, the French classic movie. The video basically represents Munich in its beauty while we are on our way to the airport.
SV: Who directed it?
Cocolores: A Collective from Munich called insidetheHAZE.com that consists of Jakub Rzucidlo, Jens Milkowski and Pawel Szczypinski.
SV: The video shows different parts of Munich. What are your favourite locations and scenes?
Cocolores: Our favourite scenes are the close-ups from the statues at the Friedensengel near Prinzregentenplatz. That's why we decided to put them on the cover. We love as well the modern white church at the beginning of the video which conveys an interesting feeling to the viewer.
SV: What were you inspired by when you were producing your track?
Cocolores: We were interested to do something quite introspective. Not a track which is - as usual - dedicated for clubs, but a piece dedicated for listeners in general. A track which fits more with a film than simply a club scene...
SV: What's next?
Cocolores: The release of the EP "Vox" is set to mid-April. We have also planned a remix EP from our first EP called "Heart Quest" with big names in it. On top of that the highlight (besides the Springfestival in Graz) will be Sonar Festival in Barcelona. Stay tuned!
