Munich Hustlers Part 3: Sascha Sibler
September 19, 2011
Presenting the wild boys of Munich through our Munich Hustlers series
- Text by Christine Bierhals
You can call them hedonists, artists and musicians. They are young, have style and their love for music interconnects them all. For quite some time Sascha Sibler has been showcasing Munich's talented up-and-coming musicians with his own publication via Be Chosen records and legendary events at Super Rave, Stock 5 and also his infamous party at the Bob Beaman club.
Satellite Voices: Do you remember your first favourite song?
Sascha Sibler: I can’t really remember my first favorite song. But when I was young I was really into all of that hip hop and RnB stuff. Moreover I was a big Motown fan!
SV: When did you start Djing?
Sascha Sibler: When I was younger, my older brother introduced me to all the parties where he played hip hop records with his friends. I think that was one of the most important moments for what I´m doing now.
SV: What’s your dream project?
Sascha Sibler: My dream project is a secret, but I´m well on the way to realising it.
SV: What are your next projects?
Sascha Sibler: A lot of things! My own night at the Bob Beaman Club and a lot of new music, for example with my homies Daniel Bortz or David Muallem.
SV: What style of music do you play today?
Sascha Sibler: I think the best and shortest description of my style is underground electronic music with a bit of pop influences.
SV: ...and where do you play?
Sascha Sibler: Most of the time I play in my resident club Bob Beaman where I've had so many good and special moments over the past year since its opening. On October 14 and 15 Bob Beaman will celebrate its 1st anniversary with a big party. Of course I’ll play in other cities and clubs as well.
SV: What inspires you about Munich?
Sascha Sibler: The Bavarian culture – I love the delicious food and beer.
SV: What can you find in your city that you cant get anywhere else?
Sascha Sibler: My girlfriend and all my friends I don’t wanna miss.
