The brand new Munich label signifies hip cashmere styles on a fair trade basis
- Text by Sylvia Weber
Knitwear and fair trade. A combination that might still awake memories of rather less attractive sustainable fashion and their matching wearers. Kira Martini of the young Munich label Aware Cashmere is one of the up-and-coming designers that would like to clear up on this stereotype, thanks to an outstanding design and concept.
Aware Cashmere presented their debut collection last winter season, showing colourful and cool designs between skin-tight and oversized in finest cashmere.
The clothes are handmade in Nepal under Nepalese management, with production and materials that are non-harmful to health. It's about earning a just salary to sustain their families properly.
The first Aware Cashmere lookbook was shot by celebrated Munich fashion and portrait photographer Hadley Hudson.
