Satellite Voices Worldwide: Christine Bierhals
January 9, 2012
Our closing round robin interview with our local editors pitching questions to each other from around the globe
- Text by Satellite Voices
Christine Bierhals is a renowned stylist and fashion journalist for the likes of several international fashion magazines alongside being the author of some fashion books including "Green Designed: Fashion", "City Fashion Paris" and City Fashion Berlin". As one of our Munich City Editors she brings an insiders eye to the region's most exciting fashion movements.
Kate Hazell (Dubai): What’s your city’s best kept secret?
Christine Bierhals: Most people think that the small metropolis of Munich in the south of Bavaria is quiet conservative. But the secret of its uniqueness is manifested by the nature in and around the city, the contrast of tradition and modernity, but also by the intensity of a creative scene that develops a lot and realises its ideas.
Antonia Wille (Munich): How does a perfect day looks like for you in your city?
Christine Bierhals: Quiet, simple, but personally intense. I wake up, it’s my day off, the sun is shining, it’s warm outside. I have a coffee, grap my bike and meet friends for a nice breakfast sitting outside. Afterwards, we drive to a lake close by or just go to the River Isar. In the late afternoon we go to a beergarden to enjoy a cold beer. Later, we love to have a nice BBQ and maybe a bar like Kong Bar - still by bike and still together.
Fer Munizaga (Santiago): What are the best things to do on a winters day in Munich?
Christine Bierhals: Get your snowboard and drive into the mountains.
Sylvia Weber (Munich): What do you consider your greatest success so far?
Christine Bierhals: After having reached lots of professional objectives that were successes for me, I became aware of how important privacy is. A great success for me this year was to define my personal luck.
Celine Puertas (Paris): What do you expect for 2012?
Christine Bierhals: Besides that you never know what will happen, I personally expect to value more all the lucky and healthy moments I can spend with my family and friends.
