A round robin interview with our local editors pitching questions to each other from around the globe
Kemal Tarba is a writer and works in cultural affairs. As our Moscow City Editor he brings us the unexpected, the emerging and the iconic.
Fer Munizaga (Santiago): How would you think being a communist country affects the way fashion is conceived nowadays?
Kemal Tarba: As Friedrich Nietzsche was saying, “What doesn't kill us makes us stronger”. Today in Russia, well, in Moscow we are having the last battle between the two camps: Preppy and Pink Fur.
Josh Atkin (Shanghai): What is the most important subject to avoid while in a conversation?
Kemal Tarba: Ex-lovers and weight issues.
Luca Lo Pinto (Rome): Where’s the best outdoor place to have sex in your city?
Kemal Tarba: Definitely morning Metro! It opens just after you leave all the parties and Moscow has the most beautiful metro in the world…
Luca Lo Pinto (Rome): 10 years ago we had Steve Jobs, Bob Hope and Johnny Cash. Now we have no jobs, no hope and no cash. What will we have in next 10 years?
Kema Tarbal: I hope in next 10 years we gona have Steve Sex, Bob Drugs and Johnny Rock ’n’ roll!
Tommaso Fagioli: What's the best place for caviar and vodka?
Kemal Tarba: Oh, please. I also expect a question about bears and babushkas! Say no to stereotypes. We drink champagne here!
