Introducing the Russian team
Satellite Voices: What’s your occupation?
Yulia Us: I'm a fashion journalist, Vogue.ru contributor and the co-founder of the Slickwalk street style site.
SV: What inspires you about the area that you live and work in?
Yulia Us: It’s definitely about young people who live here. A lot is happening for the first time and they enjoy creating something new for each other.
SV: What is your favourite hidden city spot?
Yulia Us: The park of sculpture near the Central House of Artists, the calmest and greenest place in the centre of Moscow where very few people can be met. It can be roughly divided into two parts. One is devoted to the Soviet epoch and its former leaders whose monuments were brought there in 90’s and now look more like tombstones. The other area is more entertaining and contains a collection of modern sculptures.
SV: What can you find in your city that you cant get anywhere else?
Yulia Us: History hiding behind the buildings and places that are exposed to anon-harmonic attitude.
SV: What other projects are you working on at the moment?
Yulia Us: Slickwalk.com, the street style project my colleague Rudolph and I stared almost two-years-ago. I contribute Vogue.ru and I write news on fashion and beauty for Puretrend.ru. and with Rudolph, we have a lot of plans concerning new fashion video.
