The post modernist Russian painter opens at the emerging MSK-Eastside gallery
Earlier in the summer, Moscow's MSK-Eastside gallery was a welcome addition to the Russian comtemporary art scene, representing young, emerging artists who may not have had the opportunity to show in Moscow previous. The darkly surreal art of Daria K opened the gallery and tomorrow's follow up is an equally soulful exploration, this time with a solo show from Eduard Mazlo, a post modernist painter from the North Caucasus region of Russia.
With a body of work that embodies both a contemporary image of mythological Kabardian characters and the metaphysical, Mazlo states: "Everything is art and everything are symbols." There's an optimism that is bold and celebratory within his work, symbolism and the fundamentals of emotion and creation with a contemporary spirit.
Eduard Mazlo Mystical Mountains opens on 21 September and runs to 20 October
