Our newest guest editor shares images from a recent five day urban exploration of Dubai
Continuing with our theme of 'I Heart Dubai' (in honour of the U.A.E's 40th National Day), Satellite Voices welcomes a new guest editor - the photographer and skateboarder Evan Collisson. In his first post, Evan shares some wonderful images from a recent art workshop.
Guest post by Evan Collisson
I recently had the privilege to take part in a five-day urban explorative workshop hosted by Tashkeel. Our group, comprising of eight or so female Emirati photographers/designers and myself, set out across Dubai to observe and identify apparent trends, symbols, and themes commonly found across the city. We contrasted between the old and new, while photographing our wanderings, sometimes even blindfolded. We concluded in theoretic discussion, raising ideas about the city based on our findings. Hope to share a recent glimpse of dubai with these pictures. Enjoy.
