Straight from Dubai is DJ Solo, with the next exclusive installment of our On Air launch mix series
DJ Solo aka Wriggly Scott aka Neil Andrew is a Dubai-based turntablist and producer. He runs the forward thinking club night Freshly Laced, and is currently celebrating the release of his debut EP “Who is Wriggly Scott”, out now on Dented Records. His “Another Music” mix for Satellite Voices: On Air features hip hop, boogie and beats by artists living in the region, alongside new music from the rest of the world.
DJ Solo's music is a welcome respite from genre-specific DJs in the city. His sets lazily strut from funk to soul to weird bassy beats to hip hop, but what is especially refreshing is the constant addition of dusty records from Turkey, Lebanon, Armenia and various other parts of the greater region. In a ridiculously multi-cultural city like Dubai, that shit is hot to dance to.
