The magnetic Stranger Things star is the youngest talent on our list – and the only one to have inspired an iconic Halloween costume

At just 12-years-old, Millie Bobby Brown was catapulted into the ranks of TV royalty in 2016, along with her Stranger Things castmates, following the epic success of the Netflix show. “I just saw my Instagram followers going up every second,” she told Dazed. “I went from 25 to 1.4 million.”
Before Stranger Things, the Spanish-born, British-raised actress already had six credits to her name, including Grey’s Anatomy and Modern Family. But it was as Eleven, the badass girl with telekinetic powers, that she became one of the most famous tweens on the planet. Her character’s look – prissy pink dress, blue jacket, box of Eggos – became the must-have Halloween costume of 2016.
But fame hasn’t fazed the young Dazed cover star. “At the end of the day, I just do my job, I love my art,” she says. Her job now also includes modeling, following a debut in Calvin Klein’s By Appointment campaign. When she’s not working she’s supporting causes like UNICEF’s online safety campaign, which she posts about on her Instagram and Twitter, alongside pictures of her dogs and videos of giant tortoises because yes – reminder – she's still a teenager.
Despite the cliffhanger ending of the first season of Stranger Things, Brown is thankfully returning for the next season. She’s also set to make her feature debut in the Godzilla sequel, Godzilla: King of the Monsters. And, as if that wasn’t enough, she’s mentioned the prospect of pursuing music and perhaps a higher purpose still: “I genuinely want to change the world. I’m very generous and I really want people to see that I am.”
