The mop-headed Stranger Things star won hearts battling Demogorgons, and is now working on music and directing alongside his acting roles

Finn Wolfhard is the envy of middle schoolers everywhere. The young Canadian actor has crowdfunded a music video, met Obama, and starred alongside Winona Ryder in your favourite Netflix show, Stranger Things.
The former Dazed cover star bagged the role of Mike Wheeler after auditioning for the part via video while he was sick in bed. On the show, it was his puppy-dog romance with Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven, the mysterious girl with telekinetic powers, that melted hearts everywhere and made him one of 2016’s most lovable faces.
When he’s not battling Demogorgons or brushing shoulders with A-listers, Wolfhard can be found attending school in his native Vancouver, playing guitar and appearing in music videos for Canadian punk band PUP. “I want to somehow get an album or EP out,” he told us in 2016.
As for the next series, Wolfhard is lip-locked. “All I can tell you is that anyone who loved season one will not be disappointed,” he says. “We are halfway through shooting and it has been even more amazing than last year.” Stranger Things aside, Wolfhard has a lot of projects in the pipeline: he’s been cast as Richie Tozier in the new adaptation of Stephen King’s It and, along with the ambition to put out an EP, he’s keen to pick up a megaphone. “I love acting, but I really wanna direct,” he says.
