To celebrate Dazed turning 20 this autumn, a new book charting the visual history of the magazine is released this month, published by Rizzoli. Edited by its founders, writer and journalist Jefferson Hack and photographer Rankin, the pages in the book feature the magazine’s most legendary shoots, iconic images, extraordinary interviews and controversial collaborations.

From its humble beginnings in 1991 as a fold-out poster zine, Dazed has metamorphosised into the go-to reference for British style and culture it is today, pushing unheard and emerging voices into the forefront and supporting both upcoming and established talent from a multitude of creative backgrounds. Acting as a platform for experimental content and publishing a fresh wave of criticism for international counterculture, the book includes recollections from the photographers, stylists, designers, musicians and artists who have appeared in the magazine’s pages over the years.

Featuring Dazed regulars from Björk, Alexander McQueen and Jake & Dinos Chapman, to Harmony Korine, Damien Hirst and Thom Yorke, Making It Up As We Go Along celebrates 20 years of contemporary popular culture through Dazed & Confused eyes. Here’s to the next 20 years!
