Often both at the same time. Of late Mr. Guy have been a staple piece on the London Fashion Week circuit, documenting both the on and off catwalk activities at the capital's premier fashion event. And, by looking at 'Shot From Above', his latest photographic exhibition, we can see that he has made some inspiring friends along the way. The expo includes shots of designer Charlie Casely-Hayford, hairdresser James Brown, LFW CEO Harold Tillman, milliner Stephen Jones, William Tempest and Philip Start, the co-owner of the Start boutiques and the host of Guy's exhibition. Following his recent 'Behind the Seams' theme, Guy continues to look at the end of the fashion stick that we rarely get to see; the studios and private spaces of London's creative elite. This time around, to spice it up a bit, Guy have added another quirky element: everything is shot from above! Dazed Digital quickly quizzed the photographer about his show...Dazed Digital: what's up with the above perspective?Alistair Guy: I liked the point of difference of shooting from above.I feel people look more flattering from above and I wanted to have a change of perspective from last year's exhibition, 'Behind The Seams'.DD: How did you choose them?Alistair Guy: I have chosen these people because I know and like them; they are doing great things in London fashion - which is the cutting edge of fashion creativity in the world.DD: How did your relationship with Start come about?Alistair Guy: I first met Philip when he gave me a Mr. Start suit to wear to Downing Street. I loved the suit and Philip and I hit it off immediately.DD: You shoot fashion but often in different way - why is that?Alistair Guy: Not really as it's the same reason just a different perspective this time.DD: Any other exciting plans?Alistair Guy: The next venture is to do a set of portraits for the British Fashion Council of menswear designers during London Fashion Week at Somerset House.'Shot From Above' is exhibiting at Mr. Start, 42-44 Rivington Street, London EC2, until the 27th of June, 2010 Escape the algorithm!
