"I made a list of current favorite tracks and artists...then found the tracks that were cohesive together and possible to use" and with some of those tracks including previously unreleased remixes from The Sscion, Bloc Party, Cut Copy, Boys Noize and Lightspeed Champion, it made it even easier to come up with Spencer's _Product album. He also needs little justification as to why he chose to release the album; "Why not, I'm all about product."It would be difficult to recall every single thing that Spencer has been involved in. Breaking down to the essentials, Spencer understands parties and in particular, New York parties, having successfully organised nights like Berlinamsburg which gave Scissor Sisters their debut and We Bite! at Happy Ending that had a rotating line-up ranging from The MisShapes to Felix Da Housecat. Now he has settled down with the Ruff Club night at the Annex which has had We Are Scientists and Young Knives on stage. "The secret ingredient to a good party is always a variable. Some element of surprise." Spencer's fashion associations are also extensive, having DJ'd at parties for Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney. On his favourite fashion gig: "I think my favorite wasn't really a show exactly as much as it was a party. The Dior Homme parties that Hedi Slimane threw in 2004 here in New York and another in Tokyo were probably the most fun I've had thus far in a fashion show context. There were models serving drinks, Skaters in Dior kilts skating a half pipe. Sonic Youth performed in New York and Phoenix in Tokyo. It was memorable."_Product, Mix Album by Spencer Product out on September 9th 2008 on Cocomachete Records.Click here to download the Dirt Lab remix of 'Belt Loops' by The Films or stream it below.
