Bonding over a love of Prince, the glittery duo release their third uplifting electro EP on cult Parisian label Kitsuné
Boy/girl Paris-based duo Jupiter met on the dance-floor of a London club and bonded over a love of the type of retro tracks that had cleared everyone else out of the room. The uplifting brand of electro disco funk on their first two EPs, Starlighter and Vox Populi, has gained them attention on the blogosphere and led to them being signed by French cult label Kitsuné. Having made official remixes for Metronomy and Two Door Cinema Club, they are currently working on their debut album and are releasing single Saké on March 7th.
Q & A
...so special about you, then?
We love The Specials
...your worst vice?
It involves cheap alcohol
…the story behind your name?
Jupiter is the name of a top of the line synthesizer, most notably used on the Thriller LP. It's also quite convenient as it's the exact same word in pretty much every language.
... your favourite sound?
Roger Troutman's talkbox
...your worst fashion secret?
I used to wear a knitted rastafarian hat eventhough I had short hair. It looked like a miserably failing soufflé.
...your favourite website?
... good for breakfast?
Fruit Loops, but you can't get those in France anymore!
... the best thing about where you're from?
The food is amazing and diverse. Mind you, we used to live in the UK.
...are you listening to now?
Right now, we're listening to Game Above My Head (Kid Who edit)
How would you describe your work?
Disco Pop Burger
Saké is available now on the compilation Kitsuné Parisien
