Music / RiseBravestation's New Wave PopThe Canadian foursome, half of which do not wear underpants, release their second EP, '2010'ShareLink copied ✔️September 7, 2010MusicRiseText Laura Hinson Sounding like a blend of Foals, Yeasayer and Local Natives, Bravestation's charming five-track EP is certainly worth a listen. After gathering countless positive reviews for their self-titled, recorded and produced effort, the band returned to the studio less than a year after the debut was released, to create a new collection of songs. Made up of brothers Devin (vocals, bass) and Derek Wilson (guitar, vocals), alongside childhood friend Jeremy Rossetti (drums), they only met local Andrew Heppner (keyboards/percussion/engineering) after their move to Toronto. The '2010' EP was written and recorded over the span of six months and the result is an album propelled by a post-indie/punk aesthetic with propulsive bass-lines/drum beats, and heart-felt vocals. The 2010 EP is a self-produced effort with engineering done by Andrew Heppner, and mastering by Ryan Mills. Dazed caught up with Derek Wilson to get the lowdown...
