"Last Chapter", a translation of a poem by Yang Haisong, the lead singer of P.K.14.
P.K.14's singer Yang Haisong, the founder of the band and the only one of the current line-up who has been there from its beginnings in 1997, is a poet and short story writer as well as a songwriter. He has produced around 30 collections, many of which are self-published, written as uncorrected streams of consciousness. I asked him if he would be able to translate one for DazedDigital.com, so here it is.

Out the window, staring at the street below
He makes up his mind to grow old with this world
The dark then falls at 2:10pm
The dark falls into this small room
Key lost
The guard growls
"This is the last chapter," said the mistress
Green butterfly tattooed on her shoulder
"Please allow me to leave," she said
"I never could face these endings in misery"
Her hair-tie forgotten atop the sofa's armrest
Pitter patter water falling down
Making the room all noisy like
