The four-piece band from London formed in early 2009 after stints in a string of various bands before. Comprised of Mike Barrett, James Howard, Daniel Djan, and Nick Barrett, Fiction have since played at Offset Festival and touring with Warpaint and Klaxons. Their sumptuous, experimental psych pop with odd drum patterns make Fiction one to watch. Their second single is due out on the 29th of November on Hitclub Records‘Big Things’ is the follow up to their debut single ‘Curiosity and comes backed with “Mars 500’. Produced by Anthony Rossomando (DPT, KLAXONS), the new single is released on limited seven inch vinyl and available to download.

WHAT'S…

...so special about you, then?
Hmm... well perhaps there is nothing particularly special about us; perhaps we are just another band. The hope is that we are at least another good band.

...your worst vice?
Burger King discount vouchers

...your worst fashion secret?
Cheap clip on braces; spending an inappropriate length of time choosing socks from the Uniqlo sock rainbow; Oh, and one of us once bought leather trousers and had them tailored to fit.

...good for breakfast?
Dan will mostly eat yellow or white foods - carbs basically; he'd probably recommend a rice sandwich, or bread on toast or something wrong like that.

...your favourite website?
BBC iPlayer is a good compromise for not having a TV.

...do you do on a day off?
Breathe a sigh of relief to be out of each other's company.

...at the top of your shit list?
Those sound-men who make you feel guilty for making them do their job, and who then go and do it badly (apologies to the good ones out there.)

...are you listening to now?
Ariel Pink's new album is on constant repeat.

How would you describe your work?
A fragile blend of awkwardness and release.

Their next single is called ‘Big Things’ and out on 29th November on HitClub. And that there is a free download of new track ‘Phyllis’ from www.fictionlondon.com
