As the rain began to pour the five young men were handed a large clock, its hands ticking closer to 7pm, and I wondered what the next 24 hours would entail - both for me and them. Boys in a Band decided to promote the release of their debut album in their homeland (the Faroe Islands) with a mammoth 24 gigs in 24 hours. The lead singer, P , explained that it was a drunken joke that had spiralled into reality. The plan had been to perform the first gig on top of one of the many grass topped roofs in Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands, but nature had put an end to that plan. Instead, they started their quest huddled under the cover of a nearby shopping centre. After a count down in Faroese the boys launched into what would be the first of 22 acoustic gigs. All of the 18 islands which make up the Faroes are inhabited apart from one and the boys were determined to make sure everyone on the islands knew they were hot on the heels of local sensations.
