In a world of electronic music, Holy Ghost! currently signed to LCD Soundsystem's DFA Records, also home to Hot Chip and The Juan MacLean are sticking to old school techniques of using live instruments and analog sounds to create their own breed of dance music. The duo Nicholas Millhiser and Alex Frankel originally part of the live rap group, Automato as produced by James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy, have now released a string of synthy 70’s disco italo tracks such as 'Hold On' whilst remixing Modular's Cut Copy, MGMT, and Panthers. Also contributing their remix skills to Moby's 'I Love To Move In Here's all-star remix pack with the likes of Crookers, Proxy and Popof, their remix of Phoenix's 'Lisztomania' was released on Kitsune and also covered In Flagranti's Business Acumen, a double dose of disco. Here they give us their recommendations...

Can you recommend...
... three new bands?
1. Jessica 6
2. Black Meteoric Star
3. Let me think about it.

... three old bands?
1. Chic
2. Six Finger Satellite.
3. Fleetwood Mac

... a record label?
Can I say DFA?

... a website?
http://frenchbulldogrescue.org/

... a film?
I just rediscovered Do The Right Thing. Amazing.

... a book?
How It Ended: New and Collected Stories by Jay McInerney.

... something on YouTube?
The Clash on The Tomorrow Show complete with Toms and a young Futura 2000 painting in the background.

... a radio show?
Beats in Space. That's really the only one I've ever listened to.

... something to do on a day off?
If you're in New York take the train out to Brooklyn and get a taco at Taco Santana on Keap between Broadway and South 5th. I recommend the Santana taco with chorizo or al pastor (pork and pineapple!).

... a song everyone should hear?
'Never Gonna Leave You' by Evans Pyramid.

Their new single 'I Will Come Back' as remixed by Classixx and DJ Mehdi is out now, whilst their debut album will be released early next year. Their releases can be heard and downloaded free on Green Label Sound.
