Queen is out June 15
Nicki Minaj was one of the stars at last night’s Met Gala, where she revealed the title and release date of her upcoming fourth full-length: “Album dropping June 15,” she told a reporter on the red carpet. “It’s called Queen.”
Minaj was wearing a red Oscar de la Renta dress, representing her hometown, New York City. She said that she wanted to play with the sinful side of this year’s Met Gala theme, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”.
“I’m the bad guy and I wanted to make sure the bad guy was here,” she told the reporter, referencing the lyrics of her recent single “Chun-Li”: “They paintin’ me out to be the bad guy / Well it’s the last time you’re gonna see a bad guy do the rap game like me.”
“Chun-Li” was released alongside “Barbie Tingz” last month, with both tracks getting videos last Friday (May 4).
