Made up of OK Go's Tim Nordwind and ex-He Say She Say singer Drea Smith, LA's PYYRAMIDS' debut EP out this September, is a musical mix of all sorts. Having found common ground over dark British pop from the 80s to the likes of Micachu and the Shapes, the two clicked as natural collaborators, which have directly translated through their sound. Check out their new track 'Smoke & Mirrors' here...
... the best thing about where you're from?
The people. I was born in St. Louis, raised in Milwaukee, bred in Chicago. Midwest girl through and through. I love the people in the Midwest. They're by far the nicest and most genuine.
... your favourite sound?
Any song from my childhood. I love when I hear a song I haven't heard in forever, and the memories that are attached to those songs. I dig nostalgia.
...your favourite website?
...your favourite label?
Sheila Rashid (Google her, her drop crotch pants are AMAZING!)
...your worst fashion secret?
I wore JNCO's in Jr. High. I was going through a really bad skater/raver phase. Just the look though . I was such a poser.
...are you listening to now?
I'm presently obsessed with the song "Sundown Syndrome " by Tame Impala. It's so trippy and awesome. I'd heard their album "Innerspeaker" and loved it. Discovered this song a few weeks ago from their EP "Remember Me".
How would you describe your work?
Music that makes you feel first and think second.
A full length album, touring and world domination.
