Role Summary

Working with the Digital Editor and Head of Digital, the International Community Editor role is responsible for global growth across all our digital platforms. They will manage the community of international editors, build new international marketing relationships, help to spearhead the international strategy and new social platform launches.

The role requires an individual who is growth focussed, understands the Dazed editorial tone of voice, and is able to manage a team of International Editors.

Duties, responsibilities & deliverables

  • Responsible for international digital growth across platforms
  • With the help of Digital Editor, build a team of international editors
  • Continue to manage the international editors output day-to-day, including pitches from the editors right through to editing final work
  • Develop and evolve global community and editorial strategies to maximise audience growth against KPIs set from Head of Digital
  • Help identify new global growth opportunities
  • Work with Digital Marketing Manager to run geo-targeted paid social marketing in key countries around geo-specific editorial to drive increased global traffic to Dazed Digital
  • Alongside relevant editors plan and execute editorial campaigns to gain visibility in specific countries
  • Advise on content roll out according to country and platform
  • Edit all work submitted from the local market editors to ensure it is at the standard of all other editorial across the site
  • Assist Data Manager in reporting on international growth against targets
  • Track international publisher competitors and be aware of market changes
  • Inform commercial team on large branded projects or digital campaigns within the international marketplace
  • Develop and maintain international marketing relationships

Essential skills and requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role or as an editor within a team at a comparable publisher is absolutely essential
  • Understanding of Dazed’s editorial tone of voice
  • Good communication skills and awareness of differences in each territory
  • An appetite for growth and a curiosity for new emerging platforms
  • Ability to speak other languages is desired but not essential
