Earlier this year, new-rave psychedelic trio Midnight Juggernauts toured the world with French electro princes Justice. They're now back in the UK with their new album Dystopia.
Dazed Digital: You guys have had a crazy year.
Andy Streetcrimes: Touring crazy overseas. US. UK.
Daniel Stricker: We also spent two months living in a houseboat in Paris.
Vincent Vendetta: Walking through the streets- eating fine cheeses.
DS: Really romantic.
DD: How does your live show differ from your recorded work?
AS: A lot of the recorded stuff is a totally different beast when live.
VV: Yeah, some of it had to do with touring with Justice, but we've become known in indie dance circles. But we're not big electro fans.
DS: We've got a more traditional rock background.
VV: It's not about the floor-to-floor dance beats.
DD: How do you the Australian dance scene compares to the European dance scene?
AS: The Australian dance scene is very distinct.
DS: We are more rock music people.
VV: For us, Midnight Juggernauts is much more a band- we are complimenting each other. We aren't for kids on drugs.
DS: We are not for kids just waiting for the kick drum.
DD: What's your new album like?
AS: We tried to create an atmosphere of another world, though not forced. It's got a seventies-based, pop-based rock sound.
DS: A bit Pink Floyd.
VV: Totally. We are so psyched to go to Coachella and see Roger Waters perform Dark Side of the Moon!
