Qasimi S/S 09

For Spring Summer 2009, Design duo Khalid Al Qasimi and Elliott J. Frieze took inspiration from the Maharajah for Qasimi. This is the labels second show season, and they used it to reinforce their love for all this luxury. The colour palette was dominated by soft greys and browns, as well as gauze white. Leathers, suedes, silks and Loro Piana cashmere / silks were used throughout the collection.

Womenswear was dominated by fitted trouser suits and beautiful leather jackets. Chiffon dresses, body hugging pencil skirts and dress shirts rounded out the collection. Menswear had shorter trouser lengths and fitted jackets that spoke of safari getaways. Erin O’Connor closed the show in a gown fit for a Maharajah princess.
