The Brooklyn-born designer played around with prints, layering and sequins on the last day of New York Fashion Week

Last day of the New York Fashion Week kicked off with local designer Isaac Mizrahi. The show played around the grey area between prints and actual garments. The first few looks – dresses, coats and shirts – all had the details of just mentioned pieces printed on to them. Really they were just white canvases that Mizrahi had reworked into his own version of reality. Other than that there was a major focus on layering. Some dresses had thin net fabrics layered on top, while other ones, and a few jackets, were sliced along the back, revealing the inner workings of the pieces. Also sequins and shiny embrodires dominated the show. In light pink and yellow shades, Mizrahi sent an army of full-length evening gowns down the catwalk.
