Eley Kishimoto took inspiration from the land of fairy tales for their S/S 09 2009 show. The idea that behind beauty and wonder is evil and reality. The collection was young, and filled with baby doll dresses and bubble skirts. The colour palette was a mix of pinks, yellows, and greens, although in reality nearly every colour (aside from black) was used. Floral prints were also quite prominent. The shapes were loose and kept far from the body with flowing dresses paired with crop jackets. The idea was to mix 20s' shapes with 60s' prints and so the collection came together in a very cute and refreshing way. Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto aspire for us to seek out the Japanese girl within all of us for this spring summer collection.
