Zero + Maria Cornejo Womenswear A/W10

Published 18 months ago

Abstracted prints together with textural cocooning are the mainstays of this collection.

You don't look to Maria Cornejo for trend-driven clothes that do 180 degree flips every season. These are the pieces that you wear over and over again and with Cornejo's language of distinct shape, unique cutting and draping, once again, she has come up with more of these foundations. There were many styles of trousers; harem, low-slung, skinny and loose which were sometimes accentuated with a criss-cross rigid obi belt. Fur-lined sheepskin played its role in both menswear and womenswear which were then paired with loose knits. The prints introduced provided a contrast to all the hard-wearing and monochrome materials that were either abstracted photo images or African-inspired and were particularly put to good use on the half-print, half-solid draped dresses.
