Menswear highlights from Tim Hamilton and Patrik Ervell.
Today was a pretty jam packed afternon on shows, traipsing around the streets of New York feeling a little worse for wear after last nights AnOther Magazine launch party, we saw a couple of NY fashion week's menswear highlights, Patrick Ervell went with his signature style, simplicity and functionality was the main focus, with quirtky detailing such as polo T-shirts covered in buttons and tiered wind breakers played on the theme of funtionality, the palette was mininmal, with pure white being the main focus with fine black and red graphic stripes printed on top. Also another New York based menswear favourite everyone had high hopes for was Tim Hamilton who also showed today. was Tim Hamilton who also showed today. He presented a collection full of pop art mono chromatic stripes sand zig zags, and his signature acidic blue palette with sterile science coats in techno fabrics, metallic trenches and draped tonal layering. Y-3 also showed today they did over sized parkas that resembled science coats and of course following the Spring Summer 08 trend every collection seems to have - skirts and dresses, for Y-3 they used sheer long sleeved, to the floor dresses and back kilts worn over more familiar sporty Y-3 staples, Telfar show is later today, which is sure to be one of the highlights of the week!
