You can always count on Versace bringing a colourful punch to evening wear, and this season’s collection was a lesson in brights in full swing. Kept predominantly in the shades of black and white, large golden buttons added a military touch to the collection’s cropped blazers, fitted coats and asymmetrical gowns. Cut outs – something we saw at Versace’s collection last season – also made an appearance, this time adding quirkiness to a simple little black dress. The A-line coats came accessorized with mink stoles as well as neon panels – swirly, rococo-referencing shapes kept in purple, pink and green. It was the leather suits, however, that really stole the show given their perfectly fitted jackets and skirts, which gently flared out at the hip.
