The show felt like a continuation of the dreamy image he explored for spring/summer 2011, but the hardness and the dark palette of the clothes indicated another direction. Playing with a layered silhouette Cavalli explored last season, the show also brought some new textures – mainly feathers, velvet and embroidered leather. Structured jackets were worn over tailored trousers and chiffon maxi dresses were juxtaposed with a lot of fur. The distressed look was emphasized even further by the styling – the skirts seemed to nonchalantly sit on the hips, the hair was wet and dishevelled. Jewellery was kept to the minimum, with gold chokers carrying feathers, or fringes that slightly resembled human hair. Daily coverage from the shows > Escape the algorithm!
