Inspired by a boudoir, the collection felt like a subtle meditation on lingerie, resulting in a mix of delicate slips and trousers made in the most luxurious of satin. The feeling of comfort that seemed to take centre stage at the show was later set off by some tailored pieces – cropped trousers that flared out at the ankle or a long dress with a big crinoline skirt. However, it was a print that slightly resembled the designer’s face on a velvet dress, or a series of beaded fringes in the finale that affirmed it’s nighttime elegance – not casual chic – that really lies at the heart of Armani.
