Sjaak Hullekes presented a collection of unstructured military inspired jackets, loose wool trousers and soft cashmere sweaters at the Institut Neérlandais in Paris last week. In its fourth year, the menswear line of Arnheim Fashion is becoming known for its efficient, well-made contemporary clothing. A loose-fitting heavy cotton shirt is teamed with an over-sized hatched detail collar to bring a sense of understated luxury to the casual collection. During the presentation models dressed amongst the visitors, adding a sense of informality and intimacy to the proceedings. Over-sized scarves were worn over simple singe-breasted jackets while soft cotton shirts were left un-buttoned at the collar. Hullekes plays with the fragility of man, his customer is a young man trying to escape the pressures of modern times with beautifully simple clothes.
