Shot by Collier Schorr, the new collection from the designer's menswear contemporary line sees clean shapes and dark colours
Dazed presents the new film from American fashion designer, Tim Hamilton - showcasing his new Redux collection for Spring/Summer as shot by longtime collaborator Collier Schorr. Inspired by the American Northwest and artist Michael Borremans, the new Redux line sees minimal shapes and colours with a new take on tailoring.
Dazed Digital: What are the most obvious links between the themes of the collections to the video?
Tim Hamilton: We both wanted to achive an odd realness, something you dont see in fashion films. movements and blocking with the boyish playfulness were all included in this concept.
DD: How did the creative process for the video work between you and Collier Schorr? Have you worked with Schorr before?
Tim Hamilton: Yes i have worked with Collier before. She knows the clothes well but she jumps in and sets the tone as she goes. we wanted it simple. white walls black floor and black and white film.
DD: How did you first encounter Michael Borremans?
Tim Hamilton: Walking through the galleries in New York
DD: And what is it about the American Northwest that appealed to you (for the Redux line)?
Tim Hamilton: As part of my upbringing.
