Always after that little bit of extra attention, twins Dean and Dan Caten have made their shows in to full scale events with an audience unsure where to look: at the clothes or all the extracurricular activities? If you paid attention to the catwalk you would have seen a denim heavy collection, full of strong and loud colours; red T-shirts, purple shirts and yellow leather jackets were just a few of the goodies. Also the more formal shirt/tie/jacket combos came matched with raw denim and white jeans. The mood was that of Richard Gere’s Gigolo times: loud and bright, sexy and provocative. Dazed Digital: What was the red thread going through the collection?Dan & Dean: We looked at American Gigolo and how sexy Julian was – it was time for a return to men being fitted and showing a bit more. DD: How would you describe the look?Dan & Dean: A sexy 80s kinda guy but in a modern way. We updated and remixed a few pieces… DD: Very colourful…Dan & Dean: It’s summer, you know, and we want to have fun. Strong colours look great on tanned guys! DD: The brown tailored jacket almost looked a bit 1970s Donnie Brasco…Dan & Dean: Yeah, we definitely looked at the time around late 70s and early 80s. It was the beginning of a new era, a new shape, a new length and proportion.
