The new Jil Sander extension for Spring/Summer 2011 accentuates a casual wardrobe and adds a relaxed feeling to the sophisticated aesthetic of Jil Sander. Clean lines, modern fits and innovative fabrics underline the effortless approach to the new collection. Colour-blocking and unusual combinations of materials are used on classic trench coats, with a new take on the heritage of classic Jil Sander outerwear where jackets and coats play with lightness and a natural silhouette. Fine cotton poplins, papery nylons, and floating silk voiles matched with gabardines or fine high-twist knits feature flashes of shocking pinks and lime, contrasted with more neutral colours like ink and navy blues, beige, smoke grey, white and black. The shoe and bag collection includes sandals, gladiators, lace-ups and totes, whilst the white shirt is reinvented into variations of crisp poplin shirt dresses, blouses and tops. Combined with skinny trousers, they are juxtaposed with lightweight knitwear in cashmere and cotton with smart detailing and almost asymmetric lines. An interplay of pure colour, graphic prints and stripes with a focus on sheerness to achieve gentle outlines of the body. Escape the algorithm!
