Yet
again the Prada show during Milan fashion week blew everyone away with
a Spring/Summer 2008 collection that stood out from anything else this
season. Miuccia Prada's continues to prove her genius and her
unrivalled guts; this season she sent a flight of flower fairies down
the catwalk. We saw a walk through an Arthur Rackham style
Glastonbury/Camden market where nymph like girls wore flares and
platforms; and all things mystical and magical including fake watch
accessories and our favourite shoes of the season.
The
collection was what everyone had been waiting for; it was the
unexpected twist that we have been craving in the sea of patent, shiny,
hard and sexual of Autumn/Winter 2007. The quirky illustrated fairies
swoop across floaty dresses paired with checked tights; and flared
knitwear, tulip skirts, checked fitted dresses and the most incredible
Jack and the Beanstalk-esque platforms make up the eclectic and
brilliant collection. Prada was the show that made your heart skip a
beat in awe of a living legend. Long live Miuccia!
