New York fave Opening Ceremony opened a highly-anticipated second New York location in the hip sleeping quarters, Ace Hotel. From selling the best of cutting edge designers as well as their own collaborations, the new store will now offer a unique edge on travel necessities for creative professionals and culturally curious travelers. Alongside the home comforts of Haribo sweets, Walkers crisps and Kiehls travel sets sit a seasonal clothing collection and souvenirs from Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang and Phillip Lim. Either side of the store are designated areas for either male or female containing the appropriate products.

The opening evening was kick-started with a DJ set from Solange Knowles, who later joined band, Dirty Projectors on stage for a duet of ‘Stillness is the move’ previously covered by Knowles. Their audience included Chloe Sevigny, Margherita Missoni, Kirsten Dunst and Jason Schwartzman where the latter are the main focus in the La Novelle Vague film  ‘Non plus one final’ by budding directors, Gia Coppola and Tracey Antonopoulos. The short narrative was shot in celebration of the much-anticipated Ace location. The film’s 60s New Wave aesthetics create a hip and nostalgic atmosphere using bubblegum sunglasses, glass cola bottles and an oversized fluro-wall clock. Costume design for Dunst and Schwartzman came from Opening Ceremony’s S/S2010 collection.
