To open New York Fashion Week, John Varvatos and L'uomo Vogue threw gigs from Alberta Cross and Guns 'N Roses last night. The fashion world got a musical surprise as John Varvatos and L'Uomo Vogue kicked off New York Fashion Week 2010 with a party that opened with a live show by Alberta Cross. Their set was followed by an exclusive surprise performance from rock'n'roll legends Guns N' Roses, at John Varvatos' 315 Bowery boutique.

The New York-based band Alberta Cross first met John Varvatos while playing at Austin City Limits and recently played at his 52nd Annual Grammy event in Los Angeles, kicking off their worldwide tour for debut album 'Broken Side of Time' released last year.

In addition to the sole original member Axl Rose, the band's current lineup features guitarists DJ Ashba, Ron Thal and Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman and drummer Frank Ferrer. With a crowd of local and international celebrities and lovers of fashion lasting well into the night seeing guests like Kevin Bacon, Mick Rock, Sean Lennon, Rachel Hunter, Kelly Cutrone, Jay Kaufman, Kyra Sedgwick, and Sebastian Bach.
