Taking heed from the drag ball culture of mid-to-late 80s New York City, the ball (or rather, catwalk show) held at Shoreditch Town Hall, strikes a chord with Jennie Livingston's 1990 documentary film 'Paris is Burning'.The B.A.D. Ball 2 claims to be 'a fashion event like no other' where a number of 'Houses' battle it out over several rounds of strutting, dancing, singing, rolling and wheeling down the catwalk; we saw it all! The contestants are judged on the 'look' and performance that each has uniquely interpreted from the given theme; and are awarded by a panel of judges which reading like a guide of today's fashion icons, including Dazed's very own Nicola Formichetti, Clothes Show’s teen icon Caryn Franklin, Vogue's Harriet Quick, make-up artist superstar Pat McGrath and fashion designer Henry Holland.Contestants included Houses of Eygpt, BoomBox, Fierce Nest, KCTV, Independent Dependents, Legends, Maison Chateau d'Eau, Maison du Bois, and Enfants du Bois.
