CCTV Imaging

Published 19 months ago

No Editions is promising no duplicates or repetition with their series of clothes printed with distorted CCTV footage.

New York design collective No Editions is probably making a statement about our Big Brother state with their latest collection of printed garments that transfers CCTV imagery onto a dress. Rather than working in conventional seasons, No Editions adhere to their own policy of 'No duplicates, no repetitions' to create series of pieces that all bear a unique print design. These 'series' are all then well-documented and archived onto their website which also acts as their e-store. Each series strives to demonstrate a particular concept so the shapes are often simple ones like a poncho, tunic, wrap or kimono. For their latest set of 'editions', No Editions set up a camera in the streets of downtown New York for one day last August where they filmed their model wearing No Editions in amongst the public. They then took this footage and magnified it to the point where the resulting images become recognisable and they then become the resulting prints. Here is the source material footage by No Editions that was presented alongside their collection in Paris.
