Mix It Up With Gucci

The iconic Italian label launches their crossover platform of fashion and music for the iPhone and iPod Touch

Gucci today announced the launch of the Gucci App for iPhone and iPod Touch, now available from the App Store, synthesizing the worlds of music and fashion by offering exclusive Gucci products, news and events to the ability to mix their own music on a virtual turntable.

The Gucci App coincides with their Icon-Temporary project, a travelling sneaker store that opens on October 24th at 43 Crosby Street in New York before moving to Miami, London and Tokyo in Spring 2010. With the help of Mark Ronson, the app was founded by Gucci's Creative Director Frida Giannini.

In particular Ronson helped realised a feature called 'Gucci Beats' involves loops that can be individually manipulated by layering on various drums, bass and vocals. The 'music' can then be shared with friends via email or Facebook, whilst both Giannini and Ronson have created their own personal playlists for the Gucci App, which can be downloaded directly from the iTunes Store.
