The high street brand launches yet another new line focused on a luxurious take on their menswear

Topman has once again added another line to its ever expanding portfolio of collections. Introducing LTD; a new luxurious take on menswear staples. Following many recent designer collaborations and projects, the high-street chain has this time placed the brief in its in-house design teams’ hands asking them “to take a familiar Topman seasonal piece and design it in a way that they would choose to, should the normal restraints not be in place.” The result is a collection rich in detail and character that provides customers with transitional wardrobe pieces.

 ‘LTD is like the Design teams very own solo album consisting of the kind of garments we all like to wear. With a simple paired down aesthetic these are familiar pieces within main range but have a more discreet style and subsequent fashion longevity. Designed as complete collections with distinct themes throughout the season, they can be bought as complete outfits or to mix in with an existing wardrobe.’ Gordon Richardson, Topman Design Director

There is a definite gentility to the first collection which exudes British character and refinement but is distinguishably modern through sharp tailoring, preppy specs or the repetition of a print from the shirt to the tie to the jacket. Eveningwear is transformed comfortably into day wear with suit combos, shawl necked cardigans and velvet slippers adding a sense of old-time opulence.

The range won’t be the only thing new at Topman this week, with the Oxford Circus flagship store revealing its expansions which have allowed the floor to grow to double in size. Alongside LTD, Topman will have all of its existing ranges and collaborations as well as mainline collections from MAN designers James Long and Christopher Shannon.

The renovations will allow Topman to be a truly landmark menswear shopping destination with the opening of an EAT café, the first ever UK Sharps Barber concession and another first - a Rough Trade music concession. The list goes on: a space for Calvin Klein underwear, Ben Sherman and also the only UK concession for cult Australian label Ksubi. To top it all off a footwear station hosting Kurt Geiger collections and an Office “Trainer Boutique” will be in place and a new personal shopping area known as “Two One Four” will also open.

The 23,000 square foot department which has been modelled on the New York store re-opens on the 17th of September, two days before London Fashion Week and aims to be a one stop shop lifestyle experience. “We are offering our customer unrivalled product through our own collections as well as some of the most credible and cutting edge menswear labels out there. The Topman LTD collection will be available in-store and online from September 17th.
