Over the past couple of seasons, it has presented its mid-season Cruise and Pre-Fall shows in locations like Hamburg, Rome, and Cuba. Now, the Parisian house has announced that it will be heading to New York for its upcoming Pre-Fall 2018 show in December. What could be a better location to host the show than the Metropolitan Museum of Art? While NYC might not be synonymous with such a Parisian brand, Chanel actually has deep ties with the Big Apple. It previously held shows in the city in 2005 and 2007 – the latter in Grand Central Station – and, of course, took over the Met for the museum’s annual Costume Institute exhibition. “Chanel” was a celebration of both the house’s founder and Karl Lagerfeld’s work over the years. We don’t know what else to expect from the show at the moment, but with it being Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld, it will obviously be a full-on production. Will King Karl emerge from a giant apple to take his bow? We hope so!
