Last night Dirk Schonberger showed his new Joop! menswear range at Berlin´s magnificent Olympiastadion, where the slouchy knits, relaxed lines and student chic-looks transmitted an air of brazenly casual cool.

Recently named as Joop!´s creative director, Schonberger himself is much loved in his native Germany as a super-sweet guy, and even the minor model pile-up at the end of the show added a cute comic coda. The after-party, though, was very serious fun with endless rounds of tasty treats as one male model took a brief impromtu run into the stadium while the partygoers gathered in the upper-stands to eat canapes, down drinks and cuddle under a steel-colored, luxurious space-age blankets designed by Joop! Living and smuggled away by more than a few clever guests. For everyone who filched one, they have proven to be the stars of the season here in Berlin. "This blanket makes me feel like a space-age baked potato," purred one warm thief on the way home. "Being warm and cozy is the coolest thing ever."
